DAT Group sponsors solar lights to illuminate border patrol routes

With the desire to illuminate every road with solar lights and spread the practical benefits of renewable energy, DAT Group has sponsored the Sokoyo lighting system to illuminate the area of Dak O Border Guard Station in Binh Phuoc Province, contributing to supporting the soldiers in effectively managing border activities and preventing COVID-19. This project is also a meaningful initiative to celebrate the anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam People’s Army by DAT Group.

Dak O Border Guard Station is tasked with protecting nearly 16km of the border, including 9 landmark positions with 7 auxiliary and 2 main positions in Binh Phuoc Province, adjacent to O Rang District, Mondulkiri Province, Cambodia. Due to the complex terrain of the border area, the soldiers face difficulties in their activities, lacking infrastructure and relying on a generator running from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM daily for lighting.

Therefore, installing a solar lighting system for nighttime illumination at key roads and guard post areas is essential, helping the soldiers patrol the border and monitor activities more easily.

After coordinating with Dak O Border Guard Station, DAT Group organized a sponsorship program, contributing funds from within the company to purchase solar lights as gifts for the soldiers. This is a meaningful activity, demonstrating the social responsibility spirit and community-oriented approach of all DATers, celebrating the 78th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam People’s Army (December 22, 1944 – December 22, 2022), and the 33rd anniversary of the People’s Defense Day (December 22, 1989 – December 22, 2022).

As part of the initiative, DAT Group sponsored 20 sets of Sokoyo solar lights, including Solo 15W and Capsol 10W models, for installation at various locations around guard posts responsible for border management, protection, and COVID-19 prevention, as well as areas for cultural and sports activities within the unit.

Mr. Van Dat Tieu, CEO of DAT Group, shared more about the project: “Alongside our business development activities, DAT Group always focuses on the community, spreading positive values through various meaningful action programs. Over the years, DAT Group has sponsored rooftop solar systems, solar lights across provinces and cities, bringing green, clean, and energy-efficient power to remote areas, contributing to building a new and improved countryside. Therefore, DAT Group is delighted to continue expanding the smart lighting model, sponsoring Sokoyo lighting systems to illuminate the border patrol routes managed by Dak O Border Guard Station, joining hands with the soldiers to protect independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.”

On behalf of the unit’s officers and soldiers, Lieutenant Colonel Tai Huy Nguyen, Commander of Dak O Border Guard Station, expressed gratitude to all DATers: “Seeing the patrol routes illuminated by modern solar lights, operating fully automatically without the need for grid electricity, we greatly appreciate and value these special gifts. The previously dark stretches of road at night are now brightly lit, helping the soldiers have better visibility and safety for movement, patrol, and guard duty.”

When officially put into operation, the solar lighting system is expected to save 100% of the lighting energy consumption each year, reducing emissions by more than 292kg of CO2, equivalent to planting 13 new trees, improving the quality of lighting for border patrol routes, and relieving the load on the National Power Grid.

With the vision of becoming a leading technology and service conglomerate in Vietnam in the field of industrial automation and renewable energy, DAT Group will continue to sponsor many green energy projects, pioneering in creating an ecosystem to enhance efficiency and bring optimal value to customers and partners, as well as actively contributing to the community.
