DAT brings clean energy to “Illuminate Green Dreams” at Thien Phuoc Shelter

On December 12, 2020, DAT Group organized a charity event, delivering a solar energy system to Thien Phuoc Shelter located at 156 Vo Thi Lieu Street, An Phu Dong Ward, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City. The event was attended by representatives from DAT’s leadership, Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC), media units, as well as teachers and children from Thien Phuoc Shelter.

Thien Phuoc Shelter is a home that nurtures and cares for over 60 disabled and orphaned children. It also serves as a place for rehabilitating functions and educating children with epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and developmental delays in the city. Although the shelter faces challenges in terms of infrastructure and essential equipment, the atmosphere is always filled with the laughter and love of teachers, caregivers, and volunteers.

In order to support Thien Phuoc Shelter in adopting clean energy, reducing monthly electricity costs, and improving the quality of life for the children, DAT organized a charity program and sponsored a 7kWp solar project with a total capacity of 17.8kWp installed on the shelter’s rooftop.

The entire system comprises 40 Canadian Solar panels and a Sungrow grid-tied inverter, ensuring stable operation, high efficiency, and output. When operational, the system is expected to generate nearly 2.1MWh per month, helping the shelter save approximately 6 million VND in monthly electricity expenses. These savings can be redirected to enhance teaching equipment, improve infrastructure, and provide better care for the children.

During the ceremony, Mr. Khac Tu Phan, the Director of Thien Phuoc Shelter, expressed his gratitude: “I am delighted and thankful to DAT Group for accompanying us in implementing the solar project and organizing such a meaningful charity program. With the efficiency that the solar power system brings, the funds saved each month can be used to purchase additional teaching equipment, improve infrastructure, and take better care of the children.”

This marks the third time that DAT has organized the ‘Illuminate Green Dreams’ project, sponsoring and donating solar energy systems to shelters and specialized educational institutions, aiming to share love and contribute to the community. Previously, in 2018 and 2019, DAT and EVNHCMC collaborated to implement and donate solar energy systems to Specialized Education School 1/6 in District 4 and Specialized Education School 15/5 in District 11, spreading awareness of the positive values of solar energy and promoting environmental conservation.

With the hope that the “Illuminate Green Dreams” charity program in 2020 will bring joy and valuable contributions to society, DAT will continue to actively deploy more solar projects, contributing to the city’s investment efforts and raising awareness among the public about the benefits of clean energy.
