Sokoyo SOLO Lights illuminate 17 new rural roads in Nghia Trung commune, Quang Ngai

As part of the “Beautiful roads in Nghia Trung” competition in Tu Nghia district, Quang Ngai province, 17 rural roads underwent landscape improvement and were equipped with Sokoyo SOLO 15W solar lights. This transformation adheres to the principles of green, clean, beautiful, and modern roads, contributing to the goal of building a new rural area.

The launch ceremony for the “Beautiful roads in Nghia Trung” competition, first edition (2022 – 2023), took place on July 24, 2022. The event was organized by the Nghia Trung Alumni Liaison Board in Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Nghia Trung Commune, Tu Nghia District, Quang Ngai Province, and various sponsors. The competition aimed to give a fresh and modern look to rural roads, enhancing the aesthetics of the pathways, improving the quality of the lighting system using sustainable solar energy. Simultaneously, it sought to promote community participation in maintaining cleanliness around living areas, caring for roadside plants, and collaborating to protect the environment, aligning with the national program “Building new countryside, civilized urban areas.”

In this competition, 17 roads were equipped with Sokoyo SOLO 15W solar lights specifically designed for illuminating rural and inter-provincial roads. Two light poles were installed on each road, totaling 34 sets of SOLO lights. This project was implemented in July 2022 through the collaboration of Nguyen Khai Hoan Company, a partner of DAT Solar in Quang Ngai, in coordination with the local government and various sponsors.

All SOLO lights used in the competition meet the “Standard quality” with certifications such as CE, RoHS, IEC, ISO, and full compliance with the standards set by the Ministry of Construction.

+ Lights use LUMILEDS 3030 LED chips from Philips for high efficiency at 170lm/W. The LED lifespan is over 50,000 hours, and the durability extends up to 12 years.

+ Luminous Flux (brightness of the light): 2610 Lumens.

+ Lithium LiFePO4 storage battery with a capacity of 173Wh, lasting up to 8 years.

+ High-performance 50W/18V solar panels with a durability of over 25 years.

+ The intelligent controller enables lights to automatically turn on at dusk, turn off at dawn, adjust brightness, reduce power consumption, and extend the light’s lifespan.

+ The latest patented technology, batwing-shaped light distribution, provides a wide beam angle (150° x 75°) with uniform road surface illumination over 0.7 and no color spots, preventing glare for road users.

+ SOLO lights optimize the storage battery’s charging/discharging technology and intelligent control mechanism, maintaining lighting for up to 3 nights, even in completely cloudy conditions. Users can also adjust the time and brightness with a remote control for a 12-hour lighting mode each night, offering greater control in lighting applications.

+ IP65 and IK08 protection levels allow the lights to perform well in high-temperature environments, long periods of rain, and high dust conditions.

When operational, the solar-powered SOLO lights on these roads are expected to help the local community save electricity costs and contribute to reducing CO2 emissions. Additionally, the solar lighting system enhances the aesthetic appeal and modernization of village roads, aligning with the trend of building new rural areas. This is a model that the local government of Nghia Trung aims to replicate and develop in the future, receiving enthusiastic support from the local residents. In the future, the organizers and the local government plan to install more solar lights on these 17 roads to collectively upgrade the village roads to be greener, cleaner, more beautiful, and modern.

With the desire to “illuminate every path with solar lights”, DAT Solar and partners nationwide, together with Sokoyo solar lights, will bring practical benefits of smart lighting solutions to the community, contributing to the creation of a sustainable and green future. This effort aligns with the government’s commitment to achieving “Net Zero” emissions by 2050.
