Guidance on Procedures for Selling Rooftop Solar Power to EVN From A-Z

Currently, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) has temporarily suspended grid connection and the purchase of electricity from newly installed solar power systems. The reason behind this decision is that EVN’s power transmission system is unable to accommodate the total amount of solar energy being fed into the grid. Instead, EVN has introduced incentives for office buildings and residential properties to use rooftop solar panels for self-generation and consumption without selling excess electricity to other organizations or individuals.

For solar rooftop projects that commenced commercial operation before December 31, 2020, EVN will continue to purchase electricity with a 20-year contract. However, there will be a reduction in output for 1 to 4 days per month.
