Resort L'ALYANA SENSES WORLD Phu Quoc installs 84 sets of solar lights

In September 2022, DAT Solar’s partner, Phu Gia, successfully completed and handed over a solar lighting project covering a 2km pathway around the L’ALYANA SENSES WORLD resort on the Pearl Island of Phu Quoc.

OUTSTANDING EFFECTIVENESS

  • The lighting system operates 100% on solar energy.
  • Saves 3,562 kWh of electricity, over 290 USD per year.
  • Reduces emissions by over 2.849 kg of CO2 per year.
  • Equivalent to planting 126 new trees.
  • No costs for wiring, excavation, operation, and maintenance.
  • Lights automatically turn on at night and off in the morning.
  • Illumination time when fully charged is 3 nights (in case of no sunlight).

INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY

Located on Ong Lang beach on the Pearl Island, L’Alyana Senses World – “Rediscover the Original Life” is a high-end resort combining health care tourism and renowned real estate in Phu Quoc. It offers an excellent experience for tourists with quality services, immersing themselves in the tropical paradise, and embracing green initiatives through renewable energy applications.

Therefore, the investor, Saigon SOVICO Phu Quoc Joint Stock Company, decided to install a solar lighting system along the 2km pathway within the L’Alyana Senses World resort area. This decision aimed to utilize solar energy for lighting, enhance the experience for visitors, and achieve energy savings, safety, and environmental friendliness. Collaborating with Phu Gia, a partner of DAT Solar, the project was promptly coordinated and implemented.

CHALLENGES POSED

As a high-end resort, the investor had high expectations for the project. The lighting system was required to operate stably, efficiently, with good lighting performance, optimal installation costs, and meet the standards set by the Ministry of Construction for public lighting projects.

Additionally, all solar lighting equipment and materials used had to ensure quality, perform well, and be durable under harsh weather conditions and irregular changes. Solar lights had to come from reputable brands, have accurate technical specifications, and comply with certifications such as CE, RoHS, IEC, ISO, CB, along with full test reports for both the lights and LED chips for large-scale lighting projects.

EFFICIENT SOLUTION

Based on the requirements, Phu Gia, the partner, immediately conducted on-site surveys, advised on suitable light models, and decided to use 84 sets of solar lights, including 53 TECO 20W lights, 18 AMBO 30W lights, 12 INTENSE 60W lights, and 1 CONCO 120W light from the Sokoyo brand, known for its ‘Standard Quality’ for smart lighting projects.

  • Sokoyo lights use Philips LUMILEDS 3030 LED chips, with LED chip efficiency up to 170lm/W and a lifespan of over 50.000 hours.
  • Lithium LiFePO4 storage batteries have a capacity over 14.4 times that of light power, with a lifespan of up to 8 years.
  • Solar panels have a capacity 2.2 to 3.3 times that of light power, with a durability of over 25 years.
  • The intelligent controller helps lights operate automatically, adjusts brightness to reduce energy consumption, and extends the life of the lights.
  • Lights can illuminate continuously for 12 hours each night. The illumination time when completely without sunlight (fully charged storage battery) is 3 nights.
  • Can customize time and brightness according to specific needs using a remote control.
  • Complies with CO and CQ standards; LED chip test reports and certifications include CE, RoHS, IEC, ISO…
  • Lights are officially warranted for 3 years in Vietnam.

PROJECT COMPLETION

The solar lighting project was officially completed and handed over to the investor on August 31, 2022. The project received high praise for operating entirely on solar energy, ensuring safety, cost-effective electricity savings, and elevating the image of the eco-friendly paradise for L’Alyana Senses World, Phu Quoc.
