DAT donates a Solar Power System to the Specialized Education School on May 15th
On the morning of December 28, 2018, DAT Group collaborated with Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) to organize the inauguration ceremony and donation of a grid-tied solar power system to the Specialized Education School 15/5 at 06/11 Street No. 3, Lu Gia Residential Area, Ward 15, District 11, Ho Chi Minh City.
The event was attended by representatives from DAT, EVNHCMC, the Youth Union of District 11, the Department of Education of District 11, the School Board, as well as all teachers and students of the school.
Specialized Education School 15/5 currently cares for nearly 70 students with disabilities, who are children from families in District 11 and surrounding areas in Ho Chi Minh City. Among them are 02 classes for the hearing-impaired and 05 classes for slow-developing children, ranging in age from 6 to 18 years old. The school not only provides cultural education but also nurtures and develops talents for the students.
In December 2018, DAT, in collaboration with EVNHCMC, jointly sponsored 100% of the cost for a 6 kWp rooftop solar power system for Specialized Education School 15/5. This sponsorship is part of the “Sharing Green Dreams” project by DAT, aimed at supporting schools in using clean energy and contributing to reducing monthly electricity costs.
The grid-tied solar power system installed at Specialized Education School 15/5 has a total capacity of 6 kWp, consisting of 22 Canadian Solar panels and 1 INVT iMars BG inverter. The system operates fully automatically, is easy to operate, and can be monitored for electricity production through the iMars application on mobile phones. The system generates approximately 720 kWh per month, providing power for daily activities and living at the school, significantly saving on monthly electricity costs. Consequently, the school has additional funds for other activities, contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning.
During the ceremony, Mr. Tran Quang Hung, Principal of Specialized Education School 15/5, shared: “Since having the solar power system, we are delighted because the school not only uses clean energy but also saves a significant amount on monthly electricity bills. Through this, on behalf of the school, I would like to express my gratitude to the sponsors for sharing this practical and meaningful value with the students.”
The “Sharing Green Dreams” project by DAT is a community-oriented project aimed at reducing CO2 emissions and protecting the environment. It also promotes awareness among people about the benefits of clean energy, renewable energy, especially solar power—the most potential energy source in Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to the government’s policy of encouraging solar power usage.
