Factory Roof Generates Billions Each Year with DAT Solar ESCO

Applying the ESCO model helps businesses solve the problem of capital investment and simultaneously optimize technical solutions to reduce electricity costs by billions each year. Therefore, choosing a partner to implement ESCO is crucial, as the evaluation, research, and accurate calculation of the benefits and payback potential of each item will impact the investment efficiency of the project.

An 18,000 m2 factory roof generates savings from 890 million to 1.38 billion dong annually

Focusing on maximizing benefits for customers based on the electricity pricing structure of EVN, historical price increase data…, DAT Solar and financial partners will provide thoughtful advice so that businesses receive suitable and most advantageous commercial options.

Option 1: Reduced Price Compared to EVN’s Electricity Price

When a business signs an ESCO contract under Option 1, over a period of 20 years, the business will pay the actual electricity usage to DAT Solar’s financial partner at a rate about 10% lower than EVN’s (the discount rate can be negotiated depending on each project).

Assuming a business installs a 3MWp solar power system, the estimated cost savings for the business can be calculated as follows (based on a discount rate of 10%):

– For production electricity:

Installation size x Peak sun hours x 365 days x Average production electricity price

3000 x 4 x 365 x 2032 = 8,9 billion VND

Thus, each year, the business can save (8.9 billion x 10%) = 890 million VND by participating in ESCO.

– For business electricity:

Installation size x Peak sun hours x 365 days x Average business electricity price

3000 x 4 x 365 x 3146 = 13,8 billion VND

Therefore, each year, the business can save (13.58 x 10%) = 1.38 billion VND by participating in ESCO.

Option 2: Fixed Price

In reality, EVN has consistently increased electricity prices more than proposed. In 2019 alone, electricity prices increased by 8.36% and are expected to continue rising in the future.

When a business signs an ESCO contract under Option 2, DAT Solar’s financial partner will negotiate with the business on the system rental cost, and this price will be fixed, not subject to increase over time. The starting price may be equivalent to the current EVN price but will be lower as EVN prices continue to rise.

Specifically, with a fixed rental price like today, the estimated cost savings over the system’s lifetime (30 years) can be up to 4 million USD/MWp (about 93 billion VND).

In addition to saving electricity costs, the solar power system also cools the factory roof by about 5oC, and the business will continue to benefit from the system after 20 years when the contract ends.

Simple Criteria, Quick Approval

ESCO is a financial solution for businesses with relatively large solar power usage needs, offering flexible payment terms for investors. DAT and its financial investment partners will provide a comprehensive system, allowing businesses to generate income from selling surplus electricity and saving electricity costs by billions each year, along with many additional benefits.
